In Bashkiria, more than 12,000 citizens over 65 years of age have been vaccinated at vaccination stations for the elderly. Specialized centers have been organized in the republic since October last year as part of the "Care for the Elderly" campaign. During this time, 12,230 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus.
According to the "Republic of Bashkortostan" newspaper, there are 59 specialized vaccination points for the elderly today in the republic. So, for example, in the Tuymazinsky district, a specialized vaccination station is located in the building of the regional Council of Veterans. Healthy Thursday was held as part of the Care for the Elderly campaign. Every week on this day, citizens 65+ can undergo the vaccination procedure and visit the lecture hall. Leading experts deliver public speeches in medicine and surveillance in the field of epidemiology.
The station begins to work from 10 a.m. Those who came to be vaccinated first fill out a questionnaire and undergo an examination by a therapist. Here, the two-dose vaccine Sputnik V is used, which has already confirmed its effectiveness against the new strain of coronavirus Omicron.
According to Tuimazy doctors, about 80% of residents have been vaccinated to date. Thus, cases of COVID and the death of the population have decreased in the region.
"According to our estimates, since last year, about a thousand people have been vaccinated against coronavirus at our vaccination point alone," said Nurulla Bikchurov, chairman of the Council of Veterans.
For the convenience of people with limited mobility, the assistance of car volunteers is provided, or doctors themselves visit such patients at home.
A specialized vaccination point for people 65+ in Ufa, located at the People's University of the Third Age, will resume its work from February 1. Senior citizens can sign up for vaccination and find out the address of the nearest point through the Our Care call center of the United Russia party on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a toll-free number: 8-800-201-89-03.
