Radiy Khabirov signed decree on grant support for universities-REC participants

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, signed a decree on state support for the republican universities — participants of the world-class Eurasian Research and Education Center (REC) and recipients of special parts of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program grant.

The head of the region established for 2022 grants in the form of a subsidy from the republican budget for a total of 200 million rubles for state support of development programs implemented by these universities, including research and infrastructure development.

According to the decree, by February 10, the Government of Bashkortostan must approve the procedure for issuing grants and submit a draft law on changes to the regional budget for submission to the State Assembly - the Kurultay RB.

It relates to universities subordinate to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education RF, such as a joint university being created at Bashkir State University, Ufa State Aviation Technical University (USATU), and Ufa State Petroleum Technical University (USPTU).

The Head of the Region also recalled that, following a meeting with the scientific community of the republic in December 2021, he made several decisions.

“I want to talk about two of them in particular. First, in 2022, 200 young scientists and graduate students should have the opportunity to do an internship abroad or in the best scientific and educational organizations in Russia,” Radiy Khabirov said. “Secondly, for 200 leading scientists of Bashkortostan, it is necessary to provide support measures for improving living conditions.”
