Among the residents of Bashkiria, three more cases of infection with the omicron coronavirus strain have been confirmed. This was reported by the press service of the republican Ministry of Health regarding the research of Rospotrebnadzor specialists.
“Their condition is satisfactory. These citizens, residents of Ufa, did not travel outside the country for a month; that is, the infection occurred within the region,” the department noted.
All contact persons have been sent to isolation; tests are carried out.
Recall that the omicron strain is highly contagious. It is more virulent than other strains, with a shorter incubation period of 2-5 days. Given the ability of the new omicron to spread faster, it is likely that symptoms will appear as early as the next or a day after exposure.
Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, gave new instructions in connection with establishing the omicron strain cases.
