Tatyana Aksyutina

Three Bashkiria residents, who arrived from Tanzania on December 31, are suspected of having an omicron - a new strain of coronavirus that has already spread in this African country.

After arrival, these passengers were found to have a COVID. Tests to specify the strain were sent to Moscow at the Vector Research Institute, Rospotrebnadzor reported on January 4.

Those who arrived from Tanzania are in the hospital in individual boxes with a mild form of the disease. The rest of the passengers were obliged to self-isolate for 14 days.

The results have not yet been received, Rospotrebnadzor explained.
