Radiy Khabirov to rescuers of Bashkiria: "Each of you is invaluable expert"

Today the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov took part in a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Rescuers. Before the start of the event, he examined the new fire fighting equipment, which will be supplied to several divisions of the Federal Fire Service. Among them is a fire and rescue vehicle designed to deliver personnel, fire fighting equipment, and equipment to the fire site, extinguish and carry out emergency rescue operations. Rescuers will also receive a fire pumping station, a fire hose truck, a fire tanker, a mobile sanitization complex, and a manipulator - a total of 12 units of equipment.

"Each of you is an invaluable expert. You carry out unique rescue missions, solve the most difficult tasks, protecting residents of our cities and villages from emergencies. Your service brings together courageous people. Those who can carry out the most responsible work, facing danger, risking themselves," the Head of Bashkortostan said in his speech.

Radiy Khabirov recalled that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the first unique rescue operation in the history of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, which was carried out at the Ufa oil refinery. Then, in the autumn of 1991, a multi-ton fragment was hanging over an explosive production facility due to the destruction of the upper part of a huge pipe at an altitude of 120 meters. The disaster was prevented by the forces of the military and rescuers, climbers, and cavers using the method of a directed explosion.

Since the beginning of the year, rescuers have made more than 2 thousand trips to search and rescue operations, more than 11 thousand - to fires. The republic faced heavy snowfalls and major road accidents just the other day. Hundreds of cars were trapped in the snow. And here our rescuers were again at their best, Radiy Khabirov stressed.

The Head of Bashkortostan said that, for its part, the republic actively helped the divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. 4 new divisions were created in the Baymaksky, Kugarchinsky, and Chishminsky regions. The rescue services received 75 new equipment units worth half a billion rubles. Support was provided to the voluntary fire brigade in rural settlements; they were given seven tank trucks and 31 units of new trailed equipment.

"This year, we have done what our rescuers have been waiting for for many years - we have purchased a fire and rescue helicopter. It is assembled at our aircraft plant in Kumertau and is being tested. Now we have, one might say, our own rescue aircraft capable of extinguishing wildfires in remote and inaccessible territories. Today we are handing over to you 12 units of new equipment. Moreover, let there be as few reasons to use it in emergencies as possible," Radiy Khabirov said.

According to the Head of the Region, the upcoming New Year's holiday for rescuers and firefighters is a busy season for round-the-clock combat duty, reinforcements, and trips. Radiy Khabirov presented state awards of Russia and Bashkortostan and also handed over the keys to new fire fighting equipment. The Head of the Republic congratulated the rescuers on the upcoming New Year. The solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Rescuers ended with a festive concert.
