

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk to honor the memory of those who died in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. This was reported by the press service of the Head of the Region today, December 7. After laying a wreath, Khabirov spoke about the purposes of his visit to the capital of Belarus.
"We brought the leaders of about 40 Bashkortostan enterprises here. We have quite close trade and economic cooperation with Belarus. We are very interested in the economy of this country, just as it is interested in the economy of Bashkortostan. We have long and effective cooperation in mechanical engineering and agriculture. Moreover, we came to develop and strengthen our trade and economic ties, to exchange cultural experience," the Head of the Region said.
The Victory Monument in Minsk was erected in 1954 on Victory Square in memory of the Red Army soldiers and partisans who fought during the Second World War. In July 1961, the Eternal Flame was lit at the obelisk's base.
