In Bashkiria, as of December 6, 632 people were infected with coronavirus infection per day. This was announced by the Minister of Health of the Republic, Maxim Zabelin, at a briefing session in the regional government. The total number of cases was 110 thousand 280 people.
"More than 90% of the total number of patients were discharged with recovery," Maxim Zabelin said.
The Health Minister added that 6 thousand 859 people are being treated on an outpatient basis, and 450 are in hospitals.
"Currently, we have 2,800 beds deployed for inpatient treatment of patients with COVID and community-acquired pneumonia. In infectious diseases hospitals, there is a gradual closure and repurposing to provide care for non-infectious diseases, while the occupancy of the bed capacity is 70%", Zabelin said.
He noted that the "active vaccination campaign continues" in the republic. 2 million 31 thousand 793 people jabbed the first dose, and 1 million 798 thousand 250 people the second.
The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, commented on the report of Maxim Zabelin.
"We have crossed a mark of two million vaccinated, about 400 thousand more remain [to be vaccinated]. This is a more difficult task. These are the people who did not hear us, who are not sure about the need for vaccination. We should convince them," Khabirov said.
