Cardiology Center doctors performed complex surgery on 70-year-old patient in Bashkiria

A month ago, an older woman suffered a massive myocardial infarction, after which she began to experience shortness of breath with minimal physical exertion.

The examination confirmed in the patient one of the most serious complications of myocardial infarction - rupture of the interventricular septum.

Specialists at the Cardiology Center made a decision about surgical intervention - it was necessary to eliminate a complex defect of the interventricular septum and remove fluid from the pleural cavities. The operation lasted two hours and was performed by a team of specialists led by professor, cardiovascular surgeon Ramil Izhbuldin.

 "The operation itself is delicate; it is performed only in the Cardiology Center. In total, five similar surgeries were performed in the RCC", Irina Nikolaeva, RCC head physician, said.

Now that the patient's condition has stabilized, she will be discharged home with the subsequent observation by a cardiologist at the place of residence. Cardiologists are confident that the woman will soon forget about the symptoms that bothered her and return to a full life.
