Forecasters explained record warm start of winter in Bashkiria
The territory of the republic was in the zone of the subtropical air mass.
In Bashkiria, warming is observed atypical for December: during the day, the temperatures reach 8 degrees Celsius; at night, the thermometers show + 3 C.
Forecasters of the Bashkir Met Center explained the weather nature.
"A deep Mediterranean cyclone is moving across the European territory of Russia. The republic's territory found itself in the warm part of this cyclone, where subtropical air mass dominated. Therefore, the air temperature has reached positive values. Precipitation is mainly rain, drizzle, mixed rain and snow. Within a week, the cyclone will shift to the east, Bashkiria will find itself in its rear part, in a colder air mass. At the beginning of next week, a decrease in air temperature is expected," Svetlana Polozhentseva, deputy head of the meteorological forecast department of the Bashkir Hydrometeorological Center, says.
The warm late November was observed in Bashkiria in 2008 and 2010 when the air temperature reached +3 and +5 C.
