Antidote against COVID is created

In Russia, the number of people infected with coronavirus increased by 33 860 per day. A total of 9 million 604 thousand 233 COVID cases were recorded. At the same time, the number of deaths from COVID per day became the minimum since November 8 - 1,209 against 1,224 the day before, a total of 273,964 people died, the federal emergency operations center reported on November 29. Now in the country, more than 1.034 million people are being treated for COVID.

Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology began developing a new version of the Sputnik vaccine against the omicron coronavirus strain. Hundreds of millions of doses of the new version of Sputnik V and Sputnik Light from the omicron strain may be released as early as February 2022. One can revaccinate against COVID after Sputnik V with any vaccine, but a combination with Sputnik Light gives the best protection,  Gamaleya Institute informs.

The Mir 19 coronavirus drug will also be effective against the omicron strain, the head of the Federal Biomedical Agency, Veronika Skvortsova, stated on the Russia 24 TV channel on November 29. She also said that she used Mir 19 herself after contact with a person infected with coronavirus and did not get sick as a result. In fact, the etiotropic drug Mir 19, an antidote against coronavirus, is planned to be produced in the form of an inhalation drug, RIA Novosti reported.
