The road will become part of the M-12 "Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan" highway to Yekaterinburg. The route will include the M-7 Volga section from Dyurtyuli to Tatarstan with a length of 64.9 km and the new M-12 Kazan - Yekaterinburg highway from Dyurtyuli towards the village of Achit in the Sverdlovsk region with a length of more than 140 km.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2024.
The new road will provide additional communication between Bashkortostan and other regions and increase the flow of tourists.
Recall that Bashkiria is included in the project to construct the Moscow-Yekaterinburg highway after negotiations with the Bashkir authorities at the Transport of Russia forum in November 2018.
In April 2021, President Vladimir Putin announced the project during his Address to the Federal Assembly of Russia. The total length of the federal highway M-12 Moscow - Kazan (through Nizhny Novgorod) is 800 km. The project cost exceeds 650 billion rubles, including 150 billion rubles allocated by the National Welfare Fund.
