Bashkortostan is among the leaders in terms of participation in the population census. The head of Rosstat, Pavel Malkov, announced this at a meeting of the President of Russia with government members. In addition to our republic, many successful regions where the events are almost completed include Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the entire North Caucasus, Stavropol, Krasnodar Territory, Volgograd Region, Mordovia, Tula Region, Chukotka, and Tatarstan.
As we said earlier, more than four million people took part in the census in Bashkiria. In total, according to the speaker, 133.5 million people took part in the census, which is 91.6 percent of the total estimated population of our country. In most regions, this is 80 to 90 percent of the census participants.
Due to digitalization, operational results will become known in December of this year, more detailed preliminary results - in January 2022, and full results will be available over the next year; previously, it took 3-4 years. All authorities and local governments use the census results - from the development of large-scale federal and regional programs and projects to decisions on the construction of individual infrastructure facilities: roads, schools, hospitals, and much more.
