In Bashkiria, vascular surgeons operated on an elderly patient with complications from coronavirus. A 68-year-old resident of the republic was admitted to the Emergency Hospital of Ufa on November 2. After suffering a coronavirus infection, he was diagnosed with post-COVID thrombosis of the femoral artery on the right and the popliteal artery on the left. For health reasons, a decision was made about surgical intervention.
"The operation to remove blood clots from blood vessels was successful. Currently, the patient's condition has stabilized, and he has already been discharged home," the medical facility informs.
Experts warn that patients who have undergone COVID-19, especially unvaccinated ones, those in intensive care, connected to lung ventilators, after recovery and discharge, often experience various health problems. This is due to the fact that in severe, critical cases, pathological processes cover various organs and systems. The body recovers from this with great difficulty, and gradually; as a result, the so-called post-COVID syndrome develops.
