Surgeons performed complex brain operation and saved patient's life in Ufa
The fight for patients' lives continues in the "green zone" of the City Emergency Hospital.
On her social media, the head physician of the medical institution, Irina Karamova, announced that surgeons had conducted a complex operation on the brain of a 57-year-old man.
The patient suffered an acute cerebrovascular accident and was admitted to the hospital. When diagnosing, specialists revealed occlusion of the internal carotid artery on the left and stenosis on the right. The patient was threatened with a second stroke, so it was decided to operate.
"Our vascular surgeons successfully performed the operation - carotid endarterectomy on the right with the use of a temporary intraluminal shunt. The patient's life is no longer in danger. The patient feels well and is preparing for discharge," the head physician of the emergency hospital said.
