Ufa residents take part in ultramarathon in support of Ufa disabled children

They will have to walk 250 km through the desert in a few days.

On October 24, Ufa residents Radmir Bikmetov and Rishat Gaisin began their journey in the NAMIB Race ultramarathon.

In a few days, they will need to walk 250 km through the desert and bypass the largest dunes in the world.

The runners plan to raise 400 thousand rubles to organize an adaptation camp for children with disabilities and children of the “Lomaya Bareyery” (Breaking Barriers) Center. Such a camp will help them to become more independent. Its participants will be children with musculoskeletal disorders, hearing and vision impairments.

“In the conditions of the adaptation camp, disabled children receive qualified assistance from specialists and learn to be independent. This is an offsite three-day event, which provides for individual and group classes not only with children but also with their parents,” Alina Khabirova, director of the “Lomaya Bareyery”  Center, a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan said.

The fundraising takes place on the website. Radmir Bikmetov and Rishat Gaisin have already contributed to the organization of the camp. It remains to collect 80 thousand rubles more.
