Health Ministry told how to reduce coronavirus cases

The situation with the development of coronavirus in the world as a whole has stabilized after almost two months of growth. This was announced by the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. At the same time, he noted that the situation is different everywhere - somewhere, a sharp increase in the number of cases of illness and death is recorded, somewhere, on the contrary, there is a decrease.

“As long as this virus is circulating anywhere, it poses a threat everywhere,” he stated.

In total, from August 16 to 22, more than 4.5 million cases of infection were registered in the world, more than 68 thousand people died.

As told in the Ministry of Health of Russia, the forecast of the situation with coronavirus in Russia can be adjusted upward if the Russians are more actively vaccinated.

According to the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund calculations, based on the Ministry of Health forecast, 34.9 million people will get infected in Russia in the second half of 2021; every fifth will need hospitalization.

“The forecast will be adjusted downward only if citizens become more active in receiving vaccinations against coronavirus. Vaccinations not only reduce the likelihood of getting sick but also the severity of the course of the disease,” the Ministry of Health said.
