Bashkortostan ranks first in Volga Federal District in terms of young people number

Bashkortostan is the first in the Volga Federal District and the seventh among 85 Russian subjects in terms of young people. The republic is home to 1 million 107 thousand 717 young people, it was reported at a meeting of the Government of Bashkortostan, following the results of the first half of 2021.

Among the priority directions for the state youth policy in the republic are the development of talented youth and youth initiatives, support of the volunteer movement, civil-patriotic education of young citizens, prevention of asocial and destructive manifestations of youth.

In the field of supporting talented youth, more than 130 thousand young citizens took part in the targeted projects and programs. Socially active young people of the republic have won 17 grants totaling over 10 million rubles.

According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Irek Sagitov, according to the results of the first half of the year, about 2 million people are systematically engaged in physical culture and sports in the republic. This represents 49.6% of the total population from 3 to 79 years old.

There are 12,774 sports facilities in the republic. Small sports grounds have been installed in 37 municipalities to create zones for active recreation and physical education. By the end of the year, sports and technological equipment will be delivered to 5 municipalities.

Bashkortostan is a pilot site for the federal program "Wrestling to Schools". The project was launched in 62 secondary schools. Until 2024, the number of schools involved in the project will be 200.

For the successful development of sports in rural areas, the Rural Coach program is being implemented in 2021. 600 thousand rubles of compensation payments were provided to 20 coaches.

14 municipalities received subsidies from the budget of the Republic of Bashkortostan for 75.4 million rubles for sports training in basic sports as part of the regional project "Sport is Way of Life".
