Water level in Belaya has dropped to historic lows

The water level in Belaya dropped to historic lows. According to specialists from the Bashkir Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the level of the Belaya River reached "minus 158 centimeters" from the gauging station zero in Ufa on August 9. The water level in the river dropped by four centimeters per day.
Previously, such a record was registered at minus 156 centimeters in September 2012.
The level of the Ufa River near the village of Shaksha is 85 cm. 10 centimeters (75 cm) remains to the historical minimum, which happened in October 2010.
Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that according to the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic, the natural inflow of water to the Pavlovskoe and Nizhnekamskoe reservoirs in May and June was more than half below the norm.
"After the drought and low water in 2010 and 2012, the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan recommended large water users to modernize or reconstruct their water intakes. For ten years, enough has been done, and now, when the situation repeats itself, it is possible to reassure the residents of Ufa and other republican cities - we do not see any risks of water supply," Vitaly Tyur, deputy head, head of the water resources department in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Kamsky Basin Water Management Board of Federal Water Resources Agency said.
