The Andrey Pavlenko Foundation has closed a project to finance media projects that tell about oncology in Russia.

"Unfortunately, during the existence of the project, we have not received enough interesting and promising applications that we expected at the very beginning of our work. And each time, it became more and more difficult for us to select significant media projects worthy of funding from a small volume of competitive works," the Foundation reports.

All funds that go to patreon.com will be transferred directly to Andrey Pavlenko's family. His widow, Anna Pavlenko, will independently distribute funds to charitable foundations. It is already known about her decision to finance the work of the School of Practical Oncology, which Andrey founded.

Two projects from Bashkiria received grants from the Pavlenko Foundation. This was the Stop! Cancer short films and a video project, started by Marcel Imangulov, "Knockin 'on Hearts".

The Andrey Pavlenko Grant for photo, film, video documentary and contributing journalists who tell about people fighting cancer in their work was established in January 2020.

Friends of the doctor announced this after his death: Andrey Pavlenko fought stomach cancer for two years, but, unfortunately, the disease turned out to be stronger. On January 5, he passed away.

Since 2018, a well-known oncologist from St. Petersburg, Andrey Pavlenko, covered his fight against his stomach cancer in a special project.
