WHO head warns of more dangerous strain of coronavirus

World Health Organization Director Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus warned of the possibility of a coronavirus strain even more dangerous than the delta variant.

"The wider the spread of the virus, the more variants will appear with the potential to become even more dangerous than the delta variant, which is now causing so much damage," the head of the TASS department was quoted as saying.

According to Gebreyesus, vaccination of 70% of the population of each country by the summer of 2022 will stop the coronavirus pandemic and restart the global economy.

"If countries can mobilize and mobilize industry for wars, then why can't they do the same to fight a common enemy? Everyone knows that investing in COVID is a small fraction of what is being invested in killing people," the head of WHO says.

As of June 20, 2021, more than 250 people fall ill with coronavirus in Bashkiria every day; in total, more than 700 people have died since the beginning of the epidemic. The first dose of vaccination was received by almost 800 thousand people, the full vaccine - about 500 thousand.
