WHO found violations of Sputnik V production at Ufa plant

The Inspectorate of the World Health Organization conducted inspections of Russian enterprises that produce the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. The experts made several comments to the Pharmstandard-UfaVITA plant. Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia told RIA Novosti that Ufa Vitinka has already begun eliminating violations that mainly relate to the environment and emissions. Deputy Minister of Health of the country Sergei Glagolev noted that the revealed shortcomings in no way cast doubt on the quality of the "Gam-Covid-Vac" vaccine.

Also, the WHO specialists found problems with the full traceability, identification, and history of batches of Gam-COVID-Vac and medicinal substances I and II through SAP systems; they drew attention to the quality of filling lines and gowns for aseptic filling operators, found problems with the appropriate validation of sterile filtration of Gam-COVID-Vac.

According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, the Ufa manufacturer of Sputnik V, has already eliminated all inconsistencies pointed out by the World Health Organization.
