Bashkiria Health Minister named leading diseases in region
In Bashkiria, diseases of the circulatory system lead in terms of the morbidity structure. In addition, more residents of the republic began to fall ill due to the transferred coronavirus and community-acquired viral pneumonia. On June 10, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan Maxim Zabelin announced the leading diseases in the region at a round table on modern disease prevention organized by the KP-Ufa media outlet.
“There are other diseases, including diabetes mellitus and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract that remain in the lead. Some of them are more frequent than others. The pandemic has made its own adjustments in the outlook of patients. In 2020, the number of ambulance calls for reasons such as heart pain, increased blood pressure decreased by 20 percent. That is, people suffered but did not want to seek medical help. There was a fear of getting sick with COVID”, Maxim Zabelin stated.
13.5-14 thousand primary oncological patients are detected annually, who came for treatment to an oncologist for the first time, regardless of the stage of the disease.
“Last year, unfortunately, we “overlooked” 2 thousand patients. This is due to the fact that according to epidemiological indications, our medical checkups and preventive examinations were suspended. Plus, the residents themselves did not show commitment and activity, did not seek medical help. This also made some impact on the situation”, the minister said.
The Minister called on the republic's residents to actively participate in the medical checkups, which this year would be carried out by medical institutions in Bashkiria.
