According to Rosstat data, over 4 thousand people died in Bashkiria in April, 90 of them from coronavirus.

For the second month of spring, 4,471 deaths were registered in the republic. This is 360 more cases than in April last year.

According to Rosstat, 90 residents of the republic officially died from COVID-19 in April. The cause of death of 150 people is attributed to other vital conditions. The infection is not the main cause of death but influenced the development of other diseases that accelerated death - in 26 people, and was diagnosed, but did not affect the death outcome - in 124 people.

Since the beginning of the year, from January to April, 19,502 residents of the region have died.

There is still an excess of the number of deaths over the number of births in the region. Last April, 3,079 newborns were born. As a result, natural population decline amounted to 1,392 people and doubled compared to April 2020.

A negative trend was also registered in infant mortality: 86 dead babies in January-April 2021 and 68 over the same period in 2020. In April alone, 18 babies died.

In April of this year, 1,563 couples decided to marry. Last year there were 704 more marriage registrations.

The residents of Bashkiria also became less likely to get divorced. 1,505 - this year against 324 divorces last April.
