16.5 thousand children are under social services supervision in Bashkiria

The Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection of Bashkiria, Lenara Ivanova, reported on the state of affairs with minors in the region on Children's Day.

More than two thousand children are admitted to social shelters of the republic annually. According to the minister, the reasons are different, but the prevailing one is the parents' alcoholism.

“We manage to return 74% of them to the family, helping their parents to get back on their feet. 514 children are now in family education support centers. These are orphans and children left without care. Every day, specialists take care of them, help them survive losses, and find a new family. And sometimes they can return to their families”, Lenara Ivanova said.

Today, about 16.5 thousand children from families are under supervision in Bashkiria. All of them are brought up in socially disturbing families.

“162 special children live in boarding schools for the disabled. 9482 children live in families with social support. Family services specialists support them daily. And 79% overcome a difficult life situation. We are very happy for them,” the Minister stressed.
