CoviVac vaccines are available now in Bashkiria clinics
From May 24, people can get vaccinated with the CoviVac vaccine in polyclinics and mobile vaccination points in Bashkiria.
The CoviVac drug was developed by the M.P. Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations. Unlike its predecessors - "Gam-COVID-Vac" and "EpiVacCorona", it contains the virus and not its fragments. In this case, the virus itself is deactivated (the drug contains the active substance antigen of the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus at least 3 μg).
The first deliveries of this vaccine to Bashkortostan began on May 20, Bashinform News Agency reported.
At the moment, only adults between 18 and 60 years old can use the vaccine. It is jabbed twice with an interval of 14 days. The vaccine is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In the near future, the Chumakov Center plans to conduct the third phase of clinical trials of CoviVac, in which volunteers over 60 years old will take part.
As of May 24, 386,374 doses of vaccines have been delivered to the Republic of Bashkortostan to prevent the new coronavirus infection. Vaccination has been completed for 253,438 residents.
