More than 20 thousand people took part in anniversary bike race in Ufa

On May 23, in Ufa, a column of more than 22 thousand participants in the anniversary of One Thousand Cyclists Day rode through the capital's streets, according to the city administration website. This was the tenth race. Recall that in 2020, the event had to be canceled due to the COVID pandemic, and in 2019 it was attended by more than 12 thousand people.

Cyclists started on Lenin Square. The nine-kilometer route ran along the central streets of the city. The participants finished on the Salavat Yulaev square. In Vatan Park, everyone could visit interactive stations, refresh themselves at the Ash Market food festival, buy souvenirs and handicrafts at the craftsmen fair, watch a concert, participate in a dance master class, costume competition, and environmental campaign.

A photographer from the Bashinform News Agency followed along with the column of participants in the bike race. Many Ufa residents participated in the event with whole families; some of them were very creative, having decorated themselves and the bike in bright colors. On social media, eyewitnesses shared a video of a girl in a wedding dress taking part in the marathon.

The festival was organized by the Regional Youth Public Organization "Union of Cyclists of the Republic of Bashkortostan" with the support of the Ufa administration.
