Bashkiria residents will be able to be vaccinated with CoviVac of Chumakov Center

In the near future, residents of Bashkiria will be able to be vaccinated with CoviVac drug produced by the M. P. Chumakov Moscow Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations. This was stated at a weekly briefing session in the government by the Minister of Health of Bashkiria, Maxim Zabelin.
According to him, within three to five days, about 16 thousand doses of the vaccine will arrive in Bashkiria, including the third Russian vaccine against the coronavirus CoviVac of the Chumakov Center.
"Thus, we will have experience of working with three Russian vaccines," the Minister of Health noted.
As of May 17, Bashkiria received 367,834 doses of the Gam-COVID-Vac and EpiVacCorona vaccines. 224 860 people completed the vaccination, that is, 62% of the received vaccines, 310 496 people jabbed the first dose of the vaccine.
In total, to date, 36,950 residents of the republic have been infected with the new coronavirus, 90 of them in the last 24 hours.
The CoviVac vaccine from the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences is based on the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus. The immunogenicity of this vaccine is estimated to be 85 percent.
