Health care workers are forced to refuse to vaccinate foreigners from COVID-19 in Ufa

Citizens of foreign countries began to visit Ufa polyclinics about a month ago. Visitors come to doctors with a great desire to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus infection. According to the deputy chief physician of polyclinic No.1 of the capital of Bashkiria, Aleksey Dmitriev, the bulk of those who wish to get vaccinated are students of Bashkir State Medical University from India.

"Also Italy citizens came, who are married to Ufa residents and live here", Alexey Dmitriev explained. "Unfortunately, we have to refuse them, since funds for vaccination against COVID-19 are allocated from the federal budget, and vaccination can only be done to Russians under the compulsory medical insurance policy or those residents of the country who have a residence permit."

The physician explains this by the fact that the Sputnik V vaccine is recognized all over the world, and its effectiveness has already been proven. The deputy head physician of the Ufa polyclinic is surprised that foreigners are especially eager to get vaccinated [even to pay for it, but it is not stipulated by law - Ed.], and the Russians, who are provided with a vaccination free of charge, do not actively show interest in it.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that a vaccination campaign against coronavirus had been launched in Ufa. It started on May 14. Any resident of the capital or its guest with a Russian passport can be vaccinated and receive a flyer with a unique code by registering on the website ufa-zdorov.ru. On June 23, valuable prizes will be raffled off among all the participants on the TV channel "All Ufa", including 10 smartphones of the latest model and an apartment in Ufa. Details of the campaign are on the website ufa-zdorov.ru. The organizer is the Public Fund for the Ufa City Development.
