Scientific research of Kinderlinskaya Сave in Bashkiria received grant support from Russian Geographical Society

The Board of Trustees of the Russian Geographical Society has approved the results of the 2021 grant campaign, and the winners of the grant project competition have been announced.
The project of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Bashkortostan, "Geographical exploration of the Kinderlinskaya Сave" became the winner in the nomination "Geographical research".
The aim of the project is to conduct microclimatic and microbiological research of the Kinderlinskaya Сave, to compile a modern map and a digital 3D model of the object.
In total, 36 grants from regional branches of the Russian Geographical Society and 47 grants for initiative projects have been allocated this year.
In 2020, the Regional Office of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Bashkortostan, funded by a grant from the Russian Geographical Society, held the first Interregional Festival of the Russian Geographical Society "Toratau".
The Media Council of the Russian Geographical Society also allocated a grant to the project of the famous TV journalist, a member of the Russian Geographical Society Guzel Khamitova - a full-length documentary about the Shulgan-Tash Сave. Scientists, microbiologists, hydrogeologists, micro-climatologists, art critics, archaeologists, and employees of the Shulgan-Tash reserve were involved in filming the film "Cradle of Art - Shulgan-Tash Cave (Kapova)".
Kinderlinskaya Cave (or Victory Cave) is located in the Gafurisky district of Bashkiria. This is one of the most famous and longest caves in the Urals. It is a long multi-tiered system of passages with a total length of 8130 meters and a depth of 215 meters. At the same time, the vaults of the cave are mostly high and spacious. The average width of the cave passages is 5.4 meters, and the average height is 7.1 meters.
Downstream of the Zilim River is the Oktyabrskaya Cave, which is one of the deepest caves in the republic (98 m). Kinderlinskaya and Oktyabrskaya Caves are a single speleological system, which is a unique natural monument of Russia and Bashkortostan.
