"Today, amid the coronavirus infection spread, issues related to the epidemiological safety of medical organizations are gaining particular relevance," the chairman of the NASKI, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the epidemiology department at Sechenov Moscow State Medical University, Nikolay Briko said. "It should be noted that this year has become a year of new technologies in Russia. The success is impressive - this is the development of test systems, three effective vaccines against coronavirus infection, drugs for treatment and prevention. Our scientists have made a great contribution to ensuring epidemiological security."
The scientist strongly recommends everyone gets vaccinated against COVID-19.
"Vaccination is the most effective measure that humanity has come up with. It is due to vaccination that life expectancy has increased by 25 years over the past century. Today we can control more than 50 infections, polio, measles, rubella, and eradicated smallpox. COVID-19 is no exception; only vaccination can break the epidemic chain", Nikolai Briko added.
