Maxim Zabelin regarding new wave of coronavirus: "We must be prepared for increase in incidence"

Today, the Minister of Health of Bashkiria Maxim Zabelin, during a briefing session in the republican government, spoke about the threats of a new, third wave of coronavirus infection in Russia. In his opinion, this is entirely possible.
"We must be prepared for an increase in the incidence and increase the volume of vaccinations," the minister said. "Shortly, according to experts, decisions will most likely be made to restrict the travel of Russian citizens to countries where the disease is growing. First of all, these are Turkey and European countries, where the situation is causing concern."
The regional Health Minister also noted that to date, 263,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been delivered to Bashkiria, including 3,240 doses of the EpiVacCorona vaccine from the Novosibirsk Center Vektor.
As of the morning of April 12, 177 thousand people were jabbed with the first dose of the Gam-COVID-Vac vaccine. More than 108 thousand residents of the republic have fully completed vaccination. Simultaneously, over 40% of the total number of vaccinated are citizens over 60 years old, the minister reported.
According to the emergency operations center for combating coronavirus infection, 102 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in Bashkiria over the past 24 hours. The total number of registered cases was 33 601 people. 194 patients remain in hospitals, 7 of them are in serious condition.
