493 veterans of Great Patriotic War live in Bashkiria

Bashkiria has begun preparations for celebrating the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. According to the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, only 493 veterans and 189 war invalids survived in the region.

"Their number decreases catastrophically quickly compared with the last year. We should pay them due attention. The head of the municipality should visit each veteran and shake their hands, help them with something," Radiy Khabirov said.

The Head of the Region instructed to start work on preparing the beautification of obelisks and burials of participants and war veterans.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that a parade of soldiers from the Ufa garrison would be held in Ufa. The Head of Bashkiria expressed the hope that the "Immortal Regiment" would also take place on May 9, 2021.
