Unified federal register of travel agents will appear in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to create a unified federal register of travel agents in the country. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.
According to the law, which will enter into force on January 1, 2022, only travel agents included in the register will be able to work in the market. It will be mandatory and free of charge. The tour operator will enter information about the travel agent through its personal account in the federal register system, it will also be obliged to indicate information about the change or early termination of the contract with the travel agent within three days, TASS informs.
Travel agents will be required to enter information about their subagents in the register. Failure to enter or enter false information in the register will face administrative liability.
Rosturizm will keep this register in electronic form. Travel agents acting based on contracts concluded with tour operators (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) will be able to work for 180 days from the date of entry into force of the law. At this time, tour operators will be required to enter information about such persons in the unified federal register. After the expiration of this period, travel agents not included in the register will not be able to work. However, if they continue their activities, they will face administrative responsibility.
According to the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova, this is another very important step towards increasing the transparency of the industry.
