Radiy Khabirov: We survived challenging times with dignity due to federal support

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, today at a meeting of the State Assembly of the republic, speaking about the main results of a difficult year for everyone in 2020, noted that during the pandemic, the main burden fell on the health sector, social services, and volunteers. The Head of the Region once again thanked them for their work. He recalled that modern infectious diseases hospitals were erected in Ufa and Sterlitamak in record time. Now, this unique experience is actively used by other regions. Last year, a new building of the Republican Clinical Oncological Center, the surgical building of Hospital No. 1 in Oktyabrsky, a multifunctional hospital in Salavat, 120 rural healthcare stations, and medical outpatient clinics were also built.

According to him, the government's main task in this area is to carry out mass vaccination of the population. This is, in fact, the only way to stop the pandemic.

In education, according to the Head of the Region, the republic has become one of the leading regions in equipping schools with digital equipment, organizing distance learning. Seven schools and 23 kindergartens have been built. The President of Russia's task to provide primary school pupils with free hot meals has been completed. Control of its quality has been established, catering units and school canteens are being updated. Radiy Khabirov expressed confidence that school meals in the republic would be one of the best.

The labor market went through hard times. The registered unemployment rose to six percent. More than 209,000 people received unemployment benefits last year, including 79,000 families with children. More than 70 thousand citizens who applied to the employment service found a new job. Now the unemployment rate has dropped to 4.2 percent. By the end of this year, the labor market should recover in the republic, the Head of the Region set a task for the government.

"I would like to emphasize that we have survived these difficult times with dignity thanks to federal measures of social support for families with children. We are grateful to the President of the country Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for timely and effective assistance from the federal budget. If in 2019 about 24 billion rubles were allocated to the sphere of labor and social protection of the republic, then last year it was almost 42.5 billion rubles," Radiy Khabirov said.
