Legends of Bashkiria Festival was held in Arkhangelsk region
On March 14, "The Legends of Bashkiria. Arkhangelsky Region" festival dedicated to Maslenitsa (Butter Week) took place in the village of Askino, Arkhangelsky region.
It was an open-air event 100 km from the city of Ufa, next to the Askynskaya Ice Cave, which guests could also visit. The ideological inspirer of the festival is the famous Bashkiria traveler and activist Rina Grinberg.
Competitions, games, and amusements were organized for the participants of the festival. Those who wished could ride horses around the surroundings. Since the event was dedicated to Maslenitsa, guests were treated to pancakes according to old traditional and vegan recipes.
The festival was closed with a ritual burning of a straw effigy. Then, the Birsk archers showed their performance with historical re-enactment elements.
The organizers are the ecological association "Tengri" with the support of the State Committee RB for Tourism and the administration of the Arkhangelsky region of Bashkiria.
The festival was held for the grant of the Head of Bashkortostan with the support of the Foundation for Assistance to the Civil Society RB.
