Muftis of Russia and Uzbekistan agreed to strengthen Islamic cooperation in Ufa

On March 10, a bilateral online summit of muftis on cooperation in the Eurasian space was held in Ufa by agreement between the Central Muslim Spiritual Authority of Russia and Uzbekistans Muslim Authority.
As the organizers of the event told the Bashinform News Agency, the participants presented proposals and recommendations on organizing interaction between the Central Muslim Spiritual Authority of Russia and the Muslim Authority of Uzbekistan for 2021-2022, as well as ideas on creating a Eurasian Association for the Promotion of Islamic Education.
The summit was attended by the Supreme Mufti of Russia, Chairman of the Central Muslim Spiritual Authority of Russia, Sheikh-ul-Islam Talgat Safa Tadzhuddin, Mufti of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Muslim Authority of Uzbekistan Usmonkhon Alimov, Rector of the Russian Islamic University of Central Muslim Spiritual Authority of Russia Artur Suleimanov. The event was chaired by Dmitry Grachev, Chairman of the Youth Public Organization "Intellektualny Put".
The parties discussed the main provisions of the draft Cooperation Agreement, issues of creating a joint bilateral contact group, and adopted a final resolution.
"The participants of the summit agreed to strengthen and improve bilateral ties and contacts between the Central Muslim Authority of Russia and the Muslim Authority of Uzbekistan based on Islam, traditional for the peoples of the two countries, expressed in the madhhab of Imam Abu Hanif, aimed at interaction and cooperation in promoting the centuries-old spiritual values ​​of Islam in the Eurasian space", the organizers of the event noted.
Besides, it was decided to agree on the draft Agreement between the Central Muslim Spiritual Authority of Russia and the Muslim Authority of Uzbekistan and then officially sign it. The parties also supported the idea of ​​creating a Eurasian Association for the Promotion of Islamic Education.
