Coronavirus in Bashkiria: New data on COVID-19 vaccinated and seriously ill patients

The Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkiria reported how many residents of the republic were vaccinated against coronavirus infection and how many seriously ill patients.

29 people are in serious condition. On March 9, at a briefing session in the Government, new data on the incidence of coronavirus infection in Bashkiria were presented. During the day in the republic, COVID-19 was confirmed in 133 people. A total of 29,790 infected have been registered, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Health of the region Maxim Zabelin said. Now 270 people are being treated in republican hospitals, of which 29 are in the intensive care unit (there were 17 of them a day earlier), 10 are connected to lung ventilators. 5,246 people stay at home with a mild form of the disease. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 23,971 people have recovered, 47 during the last 24 hours.

In total, as of March 9, the republic received 122,592 doses of the vaccine to prevent coronavirus infection. Of these, 100 thousand people were vaccinated with the first dose, 46 thousand Bashkiria residents made the first and second doses of the vaccine against COVID-19, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Health RB Maxim Zabelin informed.

The number of deaths from coronavirus in Bashkiria increased by two for a day and constitutes 303 people. In the country as a whole, 336 people died from COVID-19 per day, 89,809 - for the entire period. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,342,474 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Russia, of which 9,445 are new; this is the least number since October 3, 2020. However, according to the chief physician of the “Lider Mediciny” medical center, infectious disease specialist Yevgeny Timakov, another upsurge in incidence is possible in the spring, including due to the arrival of new strains of coronavirus from Europe. The number of new cases may again reach 15-20 thousand per day.
