Prosecutor General's Office: Bashkiria is among corruption leaders in 2020

Moscow, Tatarstan, Stavropol Territory, Moscow Region, Bashkortostan became leaders among Russian regions in terms of the number of detected cases of bribery in 2020 were. This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by the department head for supervision over implementing anti-corruption legislation of the Prosecutor General's Office Viktor Baldin.

According to him, the Top-10 also includes Krasnodar Territory, Chelyabinsk and Rostov Regions, Dagestan, and Perm Territory. Meanwhile, the least bribes last year were recorded in Chukotka, in the Jewish Autonomous Region, Mari El, Adygea, Ingushetia, Tuva, and Khakassia, as well as in Murmansk, Kostroma, and Magadan regions.

Viktor Baldin said that "the regions where the circulation of financial assets is concentrated", where economically significant decisions are made, where federal authorities and large industrial centers are located, would always be in the lead in the reports on corruption.
