Large elk was almost run over by cars in Bashkiria - video

The State Traffic Inspectorate of Bashkiria warned drivers about the increased incidence of wild animals on the highway.

One of such incidents was snatched by the dash camera of the driver from the Nikolo-Berezovka village, Krasnokamsky region of the republic.

The footage shows how oncoming cars narrowly escaped a collision with a large elk. It jumped out onto the road suddenly and ran across the road at high speed.

Wild animals often come out onto the roadway. This is due to the fact that the roads cross the migration paths of animals. Elks often run out onto the road in search of their habitat, experts explain.
