Doctors predicted another rise in coronavirus incidence

In Russia, another rise in the incidence of coronavirus may begin in the spring. As infectious disease specialist Evgeny Timakov told RBC, “in any case, the British strain of coronavirus will reach our country.

The physician notes that while the population does not have a full-fledged immune layer, not so many people have been vaccinated. Those who got sick at the beginning of the pandemic can get sick again.

“In spring, with vitamin deficiency, lack of insolation, short daylight hours, the likelihood of getting sick increases,” Evgeny Timakov said.

According to the virologist, professor at Moscow State University Alexei Agranovsky, a decrease in the number of new cases of the disease is expected in the summer, and another surge in the incidence is possible in the autumn.

“And now the incidence rate of COVID-19 is falling according to all laws - there is nothing unexpected. The coronavirus behaves like a common acute respiratory viral disease. I could cautiously forecast that there will be some surge next autumn”, he explained.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, 262 people have died from the coronavirus in Bashkiria since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of cases in the region exceeds 28 thousand people. Of these, almost 22.1 thousand people recovered.
