USATU student has developed heating unit for Arctic stations

Victoria Zamuragina, a master's student of Ufa State Aviation Technical University, presented a gas turbine power plant based on the TV3-117 engine used on the Mi-8MT helicopter, a waste heat boiler, using liquefied natural gas.
The complex is mounted on the KamAZ vehicle's chassis and allows supplying a small settlement with electric and heat energy.
Currently, such projects are in great demand. Plants for the production of liquefied natural gas are being intensively built in the Arctic. The unit developed by Victoria is relevant for builders of new facilities in the Arctic, the military, and the Ministry of Emergencies.
When designing, the USATU student used the university's extensive experience in creating technologies for converting aviation gas turbine engines to run on this fuel. The project took 3rd place in the category "New technologies for the Arctic Zone development of the Russian Federation" of the IV All-Russian competition of student research papers on the Arctic.
