New drug for coronavirus and its complications will be tested in Ufa

Patients from Ufa with a severe form of the coronavirus will be the first to have Molixan in standard therapy. The launch of a multicenter placebo-controlled study is planned in 18 cities of Russia.

“Given the high potential of the experimental drug for the prevention of complications and the treatment of not only coronavirus infection, but also other complex metabolic conditions, inclusion in the number of leading research centers for clinical trials is a very significant assessment of the qualifications and level of the healthcare system in Bashkiria,” expert of the pharmaceutical market, managing partner of the Business Technologies Center Victoria Kuznetsova commented on the issue to RBC-Ufa.

Note that yesterday in the capital of the republic, tests of a new drug for the treatment of COVID-19 in severe and extremely severe patients were completed at the clinic of Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU). The regional center has become one of four clinical trial sites. According to the head of the Therapy Center of the BSMU Clinic, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Khalida Gantseva, the hzVSF-v13 suspension was administered to 25 patients. In most cases, an improvement in their condition was observed. However, it is too early to draw conclusions. Clinical trials will continue until May.
