Scientific organizations turnover decreased by 7% to $13.8 billion in Bashkiria in 2019

In 2019, 73 scientific organizations of Bashkiria completed orders and services for $13.8 billion. Fundamental and applied research took a share of 31%, development - 69%. Compared to 2018, the turnover of scientific companies decreased by 7%, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports the data to the Day of Science (celebrated on February 8).

The volume of internal expenditures on research and development exceeded 10 billion rubles in the republic. 55% of internal costs are financed from business activities.

7.6 thousand people work in the field of science, of which 54% are researchers, 7% - technicians.

More than half of scientists in Bashkiria work in technical sciences; about 1/3 are engaged in natural sciences.

Women make up 47% of researchers. In recent years, the number of young specialists has slightly increased: if in 2018 the share of employees under 29 years old was 21%, then in 2019 - 24%.
