"Starting Dialogue with Society" - Public Chamber RB about meeting with rallies participants

On February 4, the regional Public Chamber organized a meeting with the republic residents who took part in the January rallies.

Among the roundtable participants were students, doctors, business people, social activists, those who attended rallies, and the media and bloggers. More than 30 people gathered in total. Besides, residents could ask questions in the live chat on the Youtube channel.

They talked about the reasons for people to go to rallies and noted the lack of dialogue with the authorities, the fact that during the pandemic, people lost their jobs and had no subsistence means.

Dissatisfaction with heating tariffs was announced. The residents also asked why the rallies' participants were treated with such cruelty, why the concerts were organized on that day, and raised the issue of threats to expel students for participating in the rallies.

The participants spoke about the created vacuum between people and power, the lack of prospects for young people, low living standards, corruption, low educational level of children, and the need for the Public Chamber RB to organize roundtables to discuss these topics.

To discuss various problems, it was proposed to determine a special place for rallies in Ufa.

At the end of the meeting, Rostislav Murzagulov said that the meeting's format should be repeated and transformed.
