Hospitalized COVID patients number is decreasing in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, 24,412 cases of the new coronavirus infection were confirmed as of February 1. Over the past day, 165 people have been infected. The growth rate is kept within the limits of these figures. The prevalence rate is no more than 1%, the Minister of Health of Bashkiria, Maxim Zabelin, reported at a briefing session in the government.

Currently, 414 people are still in inpatient treatment, of which 57 are in intensive care and intensive care units.

According to the minister, work continues in the republic to reduce the number of beds deployed at hospitals for those infected with coronavirus infection. Thus, since February 1, the COVID hospitals at R.Kuvatov Clinical Hospital, Ufa Emergency Care Hospital, Infectious Diseases Centers in the cities of Salavat and Oktyabrsky were closed.

"If necessary, within 24-48 hours, we can re-deploy them again and use them as infectious centers," Maxim Zabelin said. He also added that there are 6 323 beds for COVID patients in the republic at present, of which 35% are free.

Regarding vaccination against the coronavirus, the Health Minister noted that the republic would receive an additional 14 thousand doses of the "Gam-Covid-Vac" drug today or tomorrow. Until the end of February, its number will increase to 100 thousand.

At the moment, Bashkiria has already received 20,142 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. More than 14 thousand residents of the republic were vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine.
