Maxim Zabelin summed up results of outgoing year in republican healthcare

The most significant achievement in healthcare was the strengthening of the technical facilities of the sphere, Maxim Zabelin, Bashkiria Health Minister, said at a meeting in the "Health Hour" format.

He noted that 120 new rural health stations were built and opened in the villages of the republic, three medical outpatient clinics were repaired, a new building of the Republican Oncological Center was opened in Ufa, an updated building of a multifunctional city hospital in Salavat, and a surgical building of the city hospital No. 1 in Oktyabrsky started their operation.

"Our special pride is the Clinical Infectious Diseases Centers built in record time in the Ufa region and Sterlitamak. We opened the latter on December 19, and the first patients are already being treated there for the coronavirus," Maxim Zabelin said. "At the same time, doctors from Bashkortostan helped their colleagues organize COVID hospitals' work and provide medical care to patients with the coronavirus in the Amur and Vladimir regions, Kamchatka Territory, Karachay-Cherkessia, as well as in Abkhazia and Kyrgyzstan."

According to Zabelin, vaccinations against influenza and pneumonia are being carried out in the republic to prevent viral diseases. The vaccination campaign against the coronavirus has been launched too.

The republic continues to build a polyclinic of the Kuvatov Republican Clinical Hospital, the Center for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, a surgical building in Uchaly, polyclinics in the Ufa neighborhood of Zaton, Birsk and the village of Chekmagush, reconstruction of existing buildings of the Republican Cardiology Center with the construction of a surgical building.

"In 2020, we have significantly renewed our fleet of medical equipment," said Maxim Zabelin. "We bought 50 ambulances, 12 emergency vehicles for children, eight mobile mammography units, a mobile clinic based on a KAMAZ vehicle. Thanks to the educational project, "Vzletai!" 65 dental offices were opened in schools. Our special pride is the Bashkir air ambulance, which plays an important role in saving residents' lives and health. This year, the pilots of the medical helicopter had over 150 flights. 200 patients received specialized medical care promptly."

Medical trailers within the framework of the campaign "Healthy Republic - Healthy Region" traveled along six routes to remote settlements, which allowed specialists to conduct almost 20 thousand examinations and identify 886 socially significant diseases.

Radiy Khabirov noted that, despite the scale of work, there would still be many tasks ahead.

"In 2020, the republic received a huge amount of support from the federal budget - 100 billion rubles. These funds were spent on the construction of medical institutions, payments to doctors and nurses, strengthening the entire health care system in Bashkortostan", Radiy Khabirov said.
