Ufa resident hands out free vegetarian soup and clothes to homeless

Ekaterina Bobrova from Ufa has been doing a good deed for four years - she feeds homeless people with vegetarian soup and other dishes that she cooks in her kitchen. This diet was chosen for a reason. She is a vegetarian herself. Every Saturday, about 30-40 homeless people gather near the barrack in the center of the capital of Bashkiria and wait for Ekaterina in any weather.

"On Saturdays, we cook hot homemade meals. Some of the volunteers prepare the first course - soup, someone - the second, buckwheat with mushrooms, and vegetable stew. We also distribute warm socks, mittens", TRTrussian quotes the Ufa resident.

Ekaterina got enthusiastic over the idea of helping the homeless four years ago when she saw a similar thing in Moscow. The main ideological inspirer and volunteer was a famous businessman.

A full meal for the homeless takes about two thousand rubles. Basically, Ekaterina Bobrova allocates funds from her budget; when there is money in the donation box, she also uses it.

Ekaterina plans to open a social canteen for homeless, needy, and disabled people.
