Russia suspends flights to United Kingdom

The Operational Headquarters for Prevention of New Coronavirus Infection made a decision to temporarily suspend flights to the United Kingdom due to the worsening epidemiological situation. This was reported on the website of the Russian government.

The restrictions take effect from 00 hours 00 minutes on December 22, 2020, and will be valid for a week. It is noted that the Operational Headquarters is carefully studying the situation with the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus in the UK.

Further decisions will be made based on the results of its consideration. Rospotrebnadzor continues to monitor genetic changes in the new coronavirus in Russia and the world, which can affect the possibility of identifying the pathogen, treating, and preventing COVID-19.

Additional measures will be taken if necessary.
