Festive opening of ice town on Sovetskaya Square took place in Ufa

On Saturday evening, the festive opening of the ice town on Sovetskaya Square took place in Ufa. Artists of the Ufa Children's Philharmonic held a fiery entertainment program for children and adults with songs, dances, and fun contests.

The audience met traditional characters – Grandfather Frost with his granddaughter Snegurochka, Baba Yaga, the symbol of the coming year - this time, the Bull. After congratulations on the coming New Year, lights were lit on the New Year's tree.

This year, a pixel tree 30 meters high was installed on Sovetskaya Square. It is decorated with a luminous star, various Christmas balls and bells of gold and red color. The ice town is decorated with all kinds of sculptural compositions, slides, and LED decorative objects.

The tradition of installing a New Year's tree on Sovetskaya Square was revived last year. Previously, the New Year's tree and ice town here delighted young townspeople from Soviet times until 2011. That is why it was decided to use the motives of the Soviet-era design in the theme and style of this festive New Year's area - so that adults would remember the happy moments of festive walks and anticipation of New Year's magic from childhood looking at these sculptures.
