People less likely to contract new coronavirus are named

Scientists have found an explanation for the situation when a person came into contact with an infected COVID-19 and did not get sick. According to the head of the cell proliferation laboratory at the V.A. Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Peter Chumakov, it is all about T-cell immunity.

This means that the person had a different type of coronavirus. There are about 10-15% of such people, and they could have been ill a few years ago, URA.RU reports.

People who have recently had the flu are more resistant to a new coronavirus infection: they have much antiviral protein in their blood - interferon, which prevents infection.

Scientists do not exclude the effect of a high level of immunity. However, each case must be dealt with separately.
